Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job in California (Lodi)

Job Summary

• Deliver coordinated nursing care for assigned patients according to established standards and nursing process.
• Supervise and direct activities of assigned nursing staff.
• Coordinate care with other disciplines using critical thinking, professional judgment, and supervisory discretion.
• Collect and analyze patient data to determine diagnosis and care issues.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure safe, humane, and effective care.
• Provide education to patients, families, and team members.
• Participate in discharge planning for continuity of care.
• Delegate and coordinate duties of healthcare team members.

Education & Experience Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Acute care facility experience preferred.
• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in California required.
• CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Required Certifications

• CPR/BLS (AHA or ARC)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or ARC
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA or ARC
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - AAP/AHA or ARC
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - as applicable
• EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) - as applicable
• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) or Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) - required for certain units; facility provides onsite training if needed
• NIH Stroke Certification - updated annually
• Competency exams including Medication/Pharmacology, Dysrhythmia/EKG, Conscious Sedation, and Telemetry (if applicable) through Relias platform

Licensure & Background Checks

• Valid Driver’s License or State ID (current photo ID required)
• Background check within 30 days of start covering last 7 years (social security trace, county/state/federal court jurisdictions, OIG, OFAC, SAM, FACIS 3, National Sex Offender, DMV/MVR if driving required)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 90 days of start
• Fit mask testing (N95 preferred) with documentation
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination within 10 years (declinations accepted except at this facility)
• Negative TB test (QGold/TSpot or 2 PPDs) within 30 days of start, updated annually; chest X-ray if history of positive TB
• Immunity or vaccination or signed declination for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• Drug testing within 30 days before start (9 panel + heroin + oxycodone)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or facility-specific declination/exemption required during flu season (Oct 31 - Apr 30)
• COVID-19 vaccination series required; medical or religious exemptions considered with facility-specific forms; boosters highly recommended

Additional Requirements

• 2 clinical references verified within 1 year of start
• Complete employment application/resume with 7-year work history including gaps
• Unit-specific skills checklist required
• Photo for badge (passport style, high resolution, no filters/selfies)
• Annual completion of Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
• Compliance with facility vaccination policies (COVID-19, flu, TDAP, etc.)
• Adherence to Adventist Health’s safety and wellbeing policies, including vaccination requirements (medical/religious exemptions may apply)

Prior Travel Experience

• No explicit prior travel experience required.
