Registered Nurse (Neuro Step Down) - Travel/Contract
Location: Lynchburg, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: 3x12 or 4x12 hour night shifts (18:45 - 7:15)
- Weekend Requirement: 2-3 weekends per month based on unit needs
- Floating: Travelers are first to float
- Call: Based on unit needs
- Nicotine-free campus
- 60 mile radius rule
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years nursing experience, preferably in neurology
- Prior travel experience not required (first-time travelers accepted)
Certifications Required
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
- Licensure: Candidates with pending certifications will be considered
Orientation
- Biweekly orientation sessions on Mondays
Additional Requirements
- Must provide:
- Candidate profile (work history)
- Specialty-specific skills checklist
- Minimum 2 manager/charge references within past 2 years
- RN license verification (NURSYS verification within 2 days of submission)
- Copies of all required certifications
Compliance & Health Documents
- Unexpired government-issued photo ID
- Background checks including SS trace, county searches (last 7 years), nationwide, sex offender, FACIS Level 3, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
- Physical exam within last 12 months
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframes
- Immunizations or titers for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 90 days prior to start
- Flu vaccination required during flu season (medical/religious exemptions accepted with mask requirement)
- Signed acknowledgment of Orientation Safety Manual and Joint Commission Training
References
- 2 professional references for travel, allied, or per diem acute care roles (within 3 years)
- 1 professional reference for per diem non-acute care roles (within 3 years)
This position offers a night shift travel nursing opportunity in a neuro step-down unit with a 13-week contract length, requiring at least 2 years of nursing experience and standard critical care certifications. Prior travel experience is not required.
