Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a certified scrub tech
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required

Required Certifications (as applicable)

• BLS (Basic Life Support) – ARC or AHA only (Instructor or Provider); online courses not accepted
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – Required for certain units (L&D, ER, CCU, etc.)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – Required for inpatient pediatrics and related areas
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) – Required for L&D and cardiopulmonary
• CHEMO Certification – Required for Oncology
• CCRN (Critical Care RN) – Required for CCU
• TNCC or ENPC (Trauma Nursing Core Course or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) – Required for ER Pediatrics
• EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) – Required for L&D
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) – Required for ER, CCU, inpatient pediatrics, and nursing admin float
• State License Verification and NURSYS Verification (as applicable)
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement

Background and Compliance Requirements

• Criminal background check within 60 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
• EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start
• HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start
• Education verification
• References: 2 professional references within 2 years of start
• Employment application and skills checklist required

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test (QGOLD or 2-step PPD within 60 days of start; T-spot not accepted)
• TB questionnaire if candidate has past positive TB
• Immunizations or titers for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (series, titer, or signed declination)
  • Varicella (2 vaccines, positive titer, or history of chickenpox)
• Drug screen within 60 days of start (includes marijuana, cocaine, PCP, amphetamines, opiates, etc.)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
• COVID vaccination preferred (initial series)
• Fit testing will be completed onsite during orientation

• Various competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests may be required depending on profession and specialty
• Candidates must review facility-specific policies such as lunch and break policies
