Job Opportunity: RRT Pediatrics (Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics)
Location: Hartford, Connecticut
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with pediatric experience. This position requires floating within scope and working every other weekend. Charting is done in EPIC. Scrub color is navy blue.
Required Qualifications
- License: Must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT). Facility does not accept Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT).
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics specialty.
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only (RQI and HeartCode Complete acceptable)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA only (RQI and HeartCode Complete acceptable)
- Special Requirements: Pediatric experience required.
- Prior Travel Experience: Not required (first-time travelers accepted at same rate).
Work Schedule
- Every other weekend required.
- Floating within scope required.
Additional Requirements
- Must provide a clear copy of driver’s license or passport.
- Background checks including 7-year search, aliases, nationwide, statewide, and sex offender searches required within 30 days of start.
- Education verification required.
- Competency exams with 80% or higher pass rate required within a year of start.
- Physical exam within 12 months of start, signed by NP, PA, or MD, documenting ability to work full day without restrictions.
- Respiratory fit test required annually.
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination proof
- Hepatitis B immunity or signed declination
- Flu seasonal vaccination or approved exemption required annually
- Drug testing: 10 panel within 30 days of start, updated annually.
- References: Two references within past 2 years who directly supervised the candidate.
- Employment history verification for last 7 years required.
- Skills checklist updated annually.
Facility & Documentation
- Must sign confidentiality, code of conduct, conflict of interest, contractor checklist, and pediatric medication calculation exam documents prior to start.
- Photo for badge required.
- HIPAA acknowledgement and competency required annually.
- OSHA mandatory training required annually.
