Job Opportunity: Wound Care Registered Nurse

Location: Melbourne, Florida
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Provide wound care services, Monday to Friday, 5x8 schedule (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
• Float between 4 hospitals to cover wound consults as needed
• Primary location has the highest volume of consults, but floating to community hospitals required
• Team includes WOCNs and a Wound Care RN (per diem) managing multiple hospitals

Required Qualifications

• Discipline: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Specialty: Wound Care
• Years of Experience: Minimum 1 year in specialty
• Certifications:

  • Wound Care Certified (WCC) required at time of submission
  • Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (WOCN) certification preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required
• Licensure:

  • Florida State RN license or compact license required at time of submission
  • Pending licenses are NOT accepted
• Other Requirements:

  • EPIC electronic health record experience required
  • Float required to cover multiple hospital locations
  • No weekend or on-call requirements
  • Two professional references from managers, supervisors, charge nurses, or directors within the last 12 months
  • Flu vaccine required during flu season (10/31 - 3/31), with medical or religious exemptions accepted under strict guidelines

Additional Requirements & Compliance

• Background checks including social security trace, education verification, and various federal/state screenings required within 90 days of start
• Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting accepted nationwide)
• Physical exam within 6 months prior to start (valid for 5 years once on file)
• Fit mask test within 12 months prior to start (strict mask types and shaving policy apply)
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 3 months of start
• Immunization titers required within 5 years for: Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
• 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (must include marijuana; witnessed urine collection required for instant tests)
• Completion of facility-specific documents including job description acknowledgement, confidentiality agreement, and badge photo
• Auto insurance required if providing home health services

Schedule & Work Environment

• Standard weekday hours, no weekends or on-call
• Floating between hospitals required
• Scrubs: Any solid color provided by employee or facility

• Locals accepted at same rate as travelers
• Block scheduling may be accommodated based on unit needs and manager approval
• Contracted hours are guaranteed

This position is ideal for a Registered Nurse with wound care certification and experience, comfortable with floating between multiple hospital locations, and meeting Florida licensure and compliance requirements.
