Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Schedule: 4x10 hour day shifts, 8 AM - 6 PM, Monday through Friday
• On-call required on weekdays and weekends
• Role: Cath Lab RN with ability to circulate; scrubbing preferred
• Procedures and skills include:

  • Administration and monitoring of procedural sedation
  • Diagnostic right and left heart catheterization
  • Interventional catheterization
  • Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • Pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years recent Cath Lab experience
• Cardiac Cath Level I Trauma experience required
• Experience must be consecutive within the past 24 months in a US hospital acute care setting
• Must have Epic electronic health record experience

Required Licenses & Certifications

• Active Florida RN license (or Compact license)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification via AHA or ARC
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification via AHA or ARC
• NIH Stroke Certification (AHA, Apex, Blue Cloud, or equivalent)
• Degree from an accredited school or institution approved by the Florida Board of Nursing

Required Qualifications & Competencies

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required for all nursing professions except Case Managers)
• Annual skills checklist and competency exams as applicable
• Background check within 6 months including all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
• Physical exam within 6 months of start, signed by DO, MD, NP, APRN, or PA
• Annual fit mask test (3M 1860 Regular or 1860 Small masks only)
• Negative QuantiFERON TB test within 6 months (TSPOT and PPD not accepted)
• Annual TB questionnaire
• Required immunizations or proof of immunity:

  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
  • Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination
  • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or declination (required during flu season)
  • COVID-19 vaccination preferred (for tracking purposes)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months (instant tests not accepted)
• 2 professional references from within the last 2 years
