Job Opportunity: Medical Assistant (Travel/Contract)

Role Summary

• Covering a leave of absence with potential for department transfer after contract completion.
• Must have previous healthcare experience, familiarity with healthcare terminology, and proficiency in Epic electronic health record system.
• Must hold Medical Assistant - Certified (MA-C) credential (MA-R not accepted).
• Reliable transportation required.
• May be required to float within scope of practice as needed.

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

Background Checks

• Background check within 45 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years.
• Includes SSN Trace, Death Master Index, Counties, Nationwide, National Sex Offender, FACIS Level 3, Education Verification, MVR (if applicable), and international background if applicable.
• Background must be updated annually.
• Specific state and facility-related searches as required.
• No open/active felony cases allowed.

Health Documents

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO.
• Fit mask test (travel only) required annually.
• Immunizations/vaccinations required or declination forms accepted:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
  • Hepatitis B (vaccination series or signed declination)
  • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
  • Seasonal Flu vaccine during flu season or declination
  • COVID-19 vaccine or declination (required if onsite)
• Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests).

References and Employment History

• Minimum of 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment within last 3 years.
• Employment application covering at least last 5 years (7 years for APN/subcontractors).
• Skills checklist updated annually as applicable.

Training and Competency Requirements

Competency Exams

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable.
• Color Blind Testing if required by unit.
• Other competency exams as required by specialty.

Facility-Specific Training Modules (WorkRamp)

• Completion of required WorkRamp modules prior to start.
• Modules vary by region, profession, and specialty.
• Annual regulatory and specialty-specific modules required.
• Epic training modules required; candidates must complete Epic access and training transcripts.

Additional Notes

• Candidates must provide 3 interview times including time zone when submitting.
• No call/no show for interview disqualifies candidate from future positions in the health system.
• Floating may be required within skillset.
• RTO (Return to Office) restrictions to be confirmed with hiring manager.
• Badge photo required (passport style with neutral background).
