Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

• Night shifts
• Must be comfortable floating between Medical-Surgical and Emergency Room units
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Must hold a valid Minnesota nursing license
• Required certifications: ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required and must be kept up to date during the contract

Required Credentials & Compliance

• Licenses & Certifications:

  • Minnesota RN license
  • ACLS and BLS certifications from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • PALS certification (preferred from AHA or ARC)
  • National Tech Certification as applicable
• Background Checks:

  • Standard 7-year background check including SS trace, county searches, nationwide, and sex offender registry
  • Annual EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
  • Minnesota DHS Net Study Fingerprint clearance required before start (time-sensitive)
• Health Requirements:

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start date
  • Negative TB test (PPD, Quantiferon Gold, or T-spot) or chest x-ray as per state guidelines
  • Required immunizations or proof of immunity: Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
  • COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption
• Drug Testing:

  • 9-panel drug screen within 1 year of start date (instant drug screen acceptable)
  • Facility requires a secondary on-site drug screen and completion of HR documents prior to start

Additional Requirements

• Must complete Minnesota DHS Net Study Questionnaire immediately after signing contract to initiate fingerprinting process
• Candidates cannot start work without fingerprint clearance, a “more time needed” letter, or DHS NetStudy Clearance Exemption
• Candidates may need to travel to a livescan fingerprinting location if not within driving distance of one in Minnesota
• 2 professional references required for travel, allied, or per diem acute care roles (within 3 years)
• Annual skills checklist and medication/pharmacology competency exams required as applicable

Summary

This is a travel/contract Registered Nurse position in Minnesota requiring night shifts and flexibility to float between med-surg and ER. Candidates must have a Minnesota RN license, at least 2 years of experience, and current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications. Compliance with extensive background checks, fingerprinting, immunizations, and health screenings is mandatory. The contract length is approximately 13 weeks.
