Job Opportunity: Case Manager

Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks


Job Description

  • Full-time, Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week.
  • Shift times: either 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM or 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, based on unit needs.
  • Case Managers cover all hospital units except Psychiatry and Women & Infants.
  • Responsibilities include:
    • Completing assessments on all admitted patients.
    • Attending interdisciplinary rounds.
    • Initiating referrals for home health, durable medical equipment (DME), skilled nursing facilities, long-term acute care hospitals (LTACs), and inpatient rehabilitation facilities (IRFs).
  • Average daily census: 1000+ hospital beds.
  • Note: This unit does not accept first-time travelers.

Required Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of case management experience in a facility with 1000+ beds.
  • Candidates with experience in facilities of 200+ beds may be considered.
  • Academic experience is preferred.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri.
  • Government-issued ID required.
  • Experience with EPIC and Allscripts electronic health record systems preferred.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required (except for Case Manager specialty).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Other certifications may be required depending on unit assignment (refer to unit-specific requirements).

Compliance and Background Requirements

  • Criminal background check within 6 months of start date, including statewide and nationwide searches.
  • Quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks.
  • Education verification of highest nursing degree.
  • State-specific background checks and registries as applicable.
  • Drug testing within 1 year of start, including a comprehensive panel of substances.
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start.
  • Fit mask testing (N95 respirators) required and must be renewed annually.
  • Immunization and health document requirements include:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine or declination.
    • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within required timeframes.
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination.
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season.
  • Completion of facility-specific orientation modules and compliance education.
  • Various facility-specific documents and acknowledgments must be completed prior to start.

  • Parking information and costs vary by shift and location.
  • Scrub color: Navy Blue.
  • This is a Magnet & Teaching Hospital with Level I Trauma designation.
  • Total staffed beds: approximately 1,266.

  • Two professional references required, preferably supervisors within the last year.
  • Employment application and unit-specific skills checklist required.
  • Performance evaluations may be requested upon completion of assignment.

Note: This position requires prior case management experience in a large acute care setting and is not suitable for first-time travel healthcare workers.
