Position Details

- Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (3x12 Days)
- Weekend Requirement: Work every other weekend
- On-Call: Required as needed
- Floating: May float within scope to meet department needs
- Schedule Flexibility: Block schedule requests can be discussed with manager
- Locals Accepted: Yes, no radius restrictions
- License: Active Illinois Respiratory Therapist license required (no pending licenses accepted)
- Experience Required: Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience
- First-Time Travelers: Accepted
- RTO Restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days off
Required Qualifications & Certifications
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license in Illinois
- Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
- Experience working with adult patients, including adult critical care and emergency department settings
- Proficient in airway management skills including:
- Endotracheal tube management and suctioning
- Extubation
- Intubation assist
- Nasal and oral airway placement and suctioning
- Sputum specimen collection
- Tracheostomy care and suctioning
- Experience with Cerner electronic medical record system
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

- Acute Care Hospital setting
- Level I Trauma Center
- Magnet recognized facility
- Total staffed beds: 562
- Scrub color: Any solid color scrubs
- Charting system: Cerner
- Parking: Permit required, no cost
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to work every other weekend and be available for on-call shifts as needed
- Must complete required background checks and verifications prior to start
- Physical exam and immunizations/vaccinations required, including flu vaccine or approved exemption
- Fit mask testing required (specific mask types accepted)
- Drug screening required within 30 days of start
- References and competency exams required for clinical candidates
- Badge photo required prior to start
Summary
This is a travel Respiratory Therapist (RRT) contract position in Springfield, Illinois, requiring a minimum of 1 year of experience with adult critical care and emergency department skills.
