Position Details

• Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (3x12 Days)
• Weekend Requirement: Work every other weekend
• On-Call: Required as needed
• Floating: May float within scope to meet department needs
• Schedule Flexibility: Block schedule requests can be discussed with manager
• Locals Accepted: Yes, no radius restrictions
• License: Active Illinois Respiratory Therapist license required (no pending licenses accepted)
• Experience Required: Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience
• First-Time Travelers: Accepted
• RTO Restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days off

Required Qualifications & Certifications

• Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license in Illinois
• Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• Experience working with adult patients, including adult critical care and emergency department settings
• Proficient in airway management skills including:

  • Endotracheal tube management and suctioning
  • Extubation
  • Intubation assist
  • Nasal and oral airway placement and suctioning
  • Sputum specimen collection
  • Tracheostomy care and suctioning
• Experience with Cerner electronic medical record system
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

• Scrub color: Any solid color scrubs

Additional Requirements

• Must be able to work every other weekend and be available for on-call shifts as needed
• Must complete required background checks and verifications prior to start
• Physical exam and immunizations/vaccinations required, including flu vaccine or approved exemption
• Fit mask testing required (specific mask types accepted)
• Drug screening required within 30 days of start
• References and competency exams required for clinical candidates
• Badge photo required prior to start

Summary

This is a travel Respiratory Therapist (RRT) contract position in Springfield, Illinois, requiring a minimum of 1 year of experience with adult critical care and emergency department skills. Candidates must hold an active Illinois RRT license and have Cerner EMR experience. The role includes working 3 twelve-hour day shifts per week, every other weekend, with on-call responsibilities.
