Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Technologist

Location: Columbus, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Overview

Seeking a skilled and experienced Interventional Radiology Technologist to join the team. The position involves performing interventional radiology procedures using Siemens imaging equipment. The role includes normal business hours with a rotating day off and call requirements.


Schedule

  • Hours: 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday with a rotating day off
  • Call Requirement:
    • One primary weekday and one backup weekday per month
    • One weekend every 6 weeks (alternating primary or backup)

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Ohio
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist
  • Experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist within the last year
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform interventional radiology procedures safely and effectively
  • Operate Siemens imaging equipment proficiently
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout procedures
  • Maintain accurate patient records (preferably in EPIC)

Background and Compliance Requirements

  • 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including FBI and BCI fingerprinting
  • Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG monitoring
  • Education accreditation verification required
  • Ohio BCI & FBI fingerprinting with specific code requirements
  • Pending background check attestation required if fingerprint results are pending
  • Annual background check required by the staffing agency
  • Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (no pending drug screens allowed at start)
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
  • Immunizations and health documents required:
    • Tdap vaccine (adult dose after age 11/12)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
    • TB questionnaire
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B titer or vaccine series (declination acceptable)
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer (medical exemptions require documentation)
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31)
  • COVID-19 vaccination not required but strongly recommended
  • Annual orientation safety manual acknowledgment
  • Compliance with dress code and hand hygiene policies
  • Fraud, waste, and abuse training certificate required prior to start and updated annually

Additional Requirements

  • Two professional references required; at least one must be from a manager or formal leadership
  • Employment application and skills checklist required
  • Unit-specific competency exams may be required
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam not applicable for this role (specific to RNs)
