Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Tech

Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Work day/evening shifts with options for 4x10-hour or 3x12-hour shifts (0630 - 1900)
  • On-call responsibilities on nights and weekends (approximately one night per week and every third weekend)
  • Practice in a technologically advanced interventional procedural area
  • Assist with scrubbing, circulating, and monitoring invasive cardiovascular procedures
  • Opportunity to cross-train in Pediatric and Adult Congenital Invasive Cardiology Program
  • Be part of a highly collaborative multidisciplinary team
  • Floating may be required; shifts could be assigned to multiple units or locations based on staffing needs
  • Traveler’s permanent address must be within 50 miles of the primary work site

Required Qualifications

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist, including experience within the last year

Education

  • Graduate of a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist Technologist (CVIS) training program

Licensure & Certification

  • Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in Wisconsin
  • Certified Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (CCI)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association

Compliance & Testing Requirements

  • Background checks including criminal, employment, and caregiver screening as per state and facility standards
  • Education verification as applicable
  • Telemetry pass/fail testing with remediation process if needed
  • Annual competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests as applicable
  • Drug screening per standard clinical requirements
  • Immunizations and health documents including:
    • TB testing and questionnaire
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or exemption
    • Varicella vaccination or exemption
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or declination form
    • Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required annually during flu season)
    • Other vaccines or declinations as required by department (e.g., Meningococcal for Microbiology)

  • Parking permit required if parking onsite; alternative transportation options available
  • Facility is Magnet®-designated and highly ranked in the state
  • References: 2 clinical references within the last 3 years required
  • Employment application and annual skills checklist required
