Job Summary
Seeking a Registered Nurse for the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU). This is a travel contract position requiring flexibility and the ability to float within scope to ICU, TCU, and other care areas including the Emergency Department for ICU/TCU admit holds.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri
- Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience, with CVICU experience within the last year
- ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Job Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care in CVICU and float to ICU, TCU, and other care areas as needed
- Care for ICU and TCU patients, including admit holds in the Emergency Department
- Adhere to facility policies and safety protocols, including fit testing for respiratory protection
Important Notes
- Candidates must be located more than 70 miles from the facility (no locals accepted)
- Fit test for mask seal is mandatory; no exceptions for CAPRs or PAPRs. Candidates must be willing to shave for fit testing.
- No on-call required
- Scrub color: Navy Blue
- Parking: Onsite garage, no fee
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Criminal background check within 12 months required
- Government-issued photo ID required
- Primary source license verification required prior to start
- Negative drug screen within 12 months required
- Physical exam within 1 year indicating good health required
- Immunizations and health screenings required including:
- TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (annual)
- COVID vaccination preferred
- Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B documentation as applicable
- OSHA Respirator Clearance required prior to start for fit testing
- Completion of facility-specific orientation modules and training, including:
- Respirator fit test onsite during first week of orientation
- AbioMed Impella Online Training (for ICU/CCU staff)
- References and skills checklist required
Additional Requirements
- Willingness to complete all required facility-specific documents and training modules prior to and during orientation
- Must comply with all facility policies regarding confidentiality, security, and ethical conduct
