Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Registered Nurse

Location: Glen Burnie, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days, 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each (06:30 - 17:00)

Job Description

• Minimum 2 years of experience working in Cardiac Cath Lab and critical care/ED experience required.
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
• Must be able to meet a 30-minute call-back time when on-call.
• Required skills: Able to sedate or circulate with Left heart Cath, STEMIs, PCI, Right heart cath, pericardiocentesis, temporary wires.
• Preferred skills: Able to sedate or circulate with pacemakers, Bi-V, ICD implantable devices, Inari for PE cases.
• Holidays: Required as scheduled, including 1 holiday shift (may include day before or after).
• Weekends: Includes 3 single weekend on-call shifts per month.
• Floating: Required within specialty, other units, and sister facilities within scope.
• On-call: 3 on-call shifts per week.

Patient Population

• Adults
• Average daily census: 4-8 patients
• Number of rooms/beds: 2

Required Certifications & Licenses

• Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Maryland.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Cardiac Cath Lab, including experience within the last year.
• Critical care and/or Emergency Department (ED) experience.
• ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Ability to sedate or circulate with Left heart catheterization.
• Ability to sedate or circulate with STEMIs.
• Ability to sedate or circulate with PCI procedures.
• Ability to sedate or circulate with Right heart catheterization.
• Ability to sedate or circulate with pericardiocentesis.
• Ability to sedate or circulate with temporary wires.

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• I9 or Attestation.
• Government Issued Photo ID.
• Background checks including 7-year criminal search, education verification, and state-specific exclusions.
• Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen required within 30 days prior to start.
• Physical exam within 1 year of start.
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start.
• Immunizations and titers: TB, Tdap, MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella, Hepatitis B.
• Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required for flu season.
• COVID vaccination not required but documentation or declination for tracking is requested.
• Two supervisory references within 1 year of start.
• Employment application/resume completed within 30 days of start.
• Previous 5 years of employment history verification.

Facility Specific Requirements

• Photo for badge (passport style with solid white/beige background).
• Completion of required learning modules prior to start.
• Completion of facility-specific forms such as vehicle identification and Pyxis access request.
• Signing of confidentiality agreement, dress code review, and job description acknowledgment prior to start.
• Epic training or test-out form completion as applicable.

Additional Notes

• Scrub color is provided.
• Floating may include other units and sister facilities within the specialty scope.
• On-call shifts and weekend coverage are part of the schedule.
• Holiday shifts are required as scheduled.
