Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse

Location: Newport News, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Specialty: Registered Nurse
Unit: Labor and Delivery
Shift: Days
Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in Labor and Delivery
Epic electronic health record experience required
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Local candidates allowed at the same rate

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Virginia
Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, including experience within the last year
BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
NIHSS certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Additional Information

Prior travel experience is not required; first-time travelers are accepted
Driver’s license required only for Home Health & Hospice positions (not applicable here)
Fingerprinting requirements updated effective 7/15/2025; check if applicable for behavioral health placements
COVID vaccination preferred but not mandatory
Facility will provide computer-based learning (CBL) during orientation with multiple attempts allowed for passing tests

This position offers an opportunity to work in Labor and Delivery with a supportive environment for both experienced and first-time travel nurses.
