Job Opportunity: Monitor Tech
Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Primarily 3x12 hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), every other weekend required
Manager may consider 8-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM; 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM; 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
Job Description
- Role supports units transitioning from RN-managed to specialty tech roles.
- Certified Cardiac Monitor Tech position with night shifts (36 hours every other week).
- Floating required to all specialties where cardiac monitoring is in place and to a sister facility as needed.
- No pre-scheduled on-call shifts.
- Holidays required as scheduled.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of Monitor Technician experience within the last year.
- Must hold BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Must hold CCI certification.
Licenses & Certifications
- Must hold one of the following certifications:
- CCI CRAT (Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician)
- NTA (Neurodiagnostic Technologist - Cardiac Monitor Tech)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Government-issued photo ID required.
- I-9 or attestation required.
- Background checks including 7-year criminal search, education verification, and various federal/state screenings.
- Physical exam within 1 year of start.
- Negative drug screen (9 or 10 panel depending on discipline) within 30 days prior to start.
- Immunizations and titers required:
- TDAP (if working with children)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or vaccination proof)
- Hepatitis B (positive titer or declination accepted)
- Varicella (positive titer or vaccination proof)
- Flu vaccine or approved exemption for the current season
- TB testing: Negative QGOLD or TSPOT within 1 year or 2-step PPD as per guidelines.
- Fit mask test within 1 year.
- COVID vaccine no longer required but documentation collected for tracking.
- Two supervisory references within 1 year.
- Employment application/resume completed within 30 days of start.
- Verification of previous 5 years of employment history.
Additional Requirements
- Must comply with facility dress code and uniform color guidelines.
- Required to submit a passport-style photo for badge.
- Must sign confidentiality agreement and job description prior to start.
- May be required to complete competency exams including dysrhythmia/EKG competency.
- Must complete medication/pharmacology competency exam if applicable.
- Facility-specific training and documentation may be required.
Work Environment
- Floating to multiple specialties and sister facility as needed.
- Night shift focus with some flexibility for day shifts.
- Holidays and every other weekend required.
This position is ideal for cardiac monitoring techs with at least 1 year of experience seeking a travel contract role with night shifts and some floating responsibilities. Prior travel experience is not required.
