Job Opportunity: Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer

Assignment Length: 13 weeks (with possible extension)
Shift: Day shift, Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (40 hours/week) with occasional on-call

Job Description

• Primary focus on Echocardiography (Echo) with required vascular ultrasound skills.
• Work involves use of Philips EPIQ and EMR systems including Cerner, McKesson/Change Cardiac PACS.
• Minimal to no Return to Office (RTO) expected.
• Black scrubs required (not provided).

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cardiac Sonographer.
• Cardiac Sonographer experience within the last year.
• RDCS or RCS certification required.
• BLS certification required.

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Two recent supervisor/manager references verified within 12 months.
• Skills checklist updated annually.
• Complete employment application/resume.
• Background check including 7-year criminal history, SSN trace, sex offender registry, FACIS Level 3, nationwide checks, and education verification.
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start.
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually.
• TB testing: QGold or TSPOT within 30 days of start (no PPDs accepted). For past positives, chest X-ray within 2 years and TB questionnaire within 30 days required.
• Immunizations or positive titers required for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination accepted)
• Annual flu vaccination required during flu season (9/3–3/31) unless approved medical/religious exemption is provided.
• Fit test completed onsite at no cost.
• Facility-specific health and safety training modules must be completed prior to start.
• Photo for badge: passport-style, shoulders up, plain background, no selfies, jpeg format, submitted within 24 hours of signing.
• State license primary source verification required.

Additional Notes

• Candidates living within 30 miles of the assignment location will not be considered.
• Candidates living 31-50 miles away may have reduced bill rate (not disclosed here).
• Facility assigns HealthStream modules that must be completed before the first day.
• Fingerprinting requirements apply only to CNAs; not applicable for this role.
• Occasional on-call duties expected.
• Must carry government-issued photo ID during hours of service.

Summary

This is a 13-week travel contract for an experienced Echo Tech/Cardiac Sonographer with strong echocardiography and vascular ultrasound skills, required certifications (RDCS/RCS, BLS), and at least 2 years of recent Echo experience. The position is day shift, Monday through Friday, with occasional call, located in Thomasville, GA. Compliance with extensive background checks, immunizations, and facility-specific training is mandatory. Prior travel experience is preferred but not required.
