Role Summary

Provide skilled speech-language pathology services in an acute care hospital setting, with a primary focus on dysphagia assessment and management.

Key Responsibilities

Complete bedside swallow evaluations, including clinical assessment of PO safety, diet recommendations, and swallowing interventions
Evaluate and treat patients with speech, language, and cognitive-communication disorders
Collaborate with physicians, nursing, and rehabilitation team members on patient status, recommendations, and discharge planning
Occasionally perform Passy-Muir Valve evaluations and provide recommendations for patients with tracheostomies

Required Qualifications

Valid Speech Language Pathologist license in California
Speech Language Pathologist (1 year of experience)
Speech Language Pathologist experience within the last year
BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
Experience in an Acute Care setting
