Overview

• Travel/contract role in Overland Park, Kansas
• Night shift: 3x12 hours, 18:45–7:15
• 36 hours per week
• Contract length: 16 weeks
• Ratios: 1:5
• First-time travelers accepted

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Kansas
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS
• 12-lead EKG
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Management of dysrhythmias
• Telemetry - on the unit monitoring

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS

Clinical Setting / Scope

• Float pool position with no home unit
• Floats between about 5 units across Med/Surg Intermediate/PCU departments and to other Metro campuses as needed
• Work settings include MS/Tele, Telemetry, Cardiac Telemetry, and Neuro Stepdown
• Holiday shifts and Charge RN assignments as needed per unit

• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and telemetry monitoring on the unit
• Pre/Post Cardiac Cath
• Sepsis

• Sheath Removal
• Feeding tube care and management
• Accessing Ports

Scheduling Notes

• 8 weekend shifts in the 6-week schedule period, with a combination of Friday/Saturday/Sunday
• RTO limit: no more than 7 days
• Guaranteed hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks, with cancelled shifts matching the regular shift length assigned
