Job Overview
- Location: Columbus, Ohio
- Setting: Palliative care unit
- Employment type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
- Contract length: 16 weeks
- Floating: Required within units of equivalent or lower acuity
Role Focus
- Provides symptom management for patients with serious illness who are still under treatment
- Common needs include uncontrolled pain, severe nausea/vomiting, failure to thrive, and fatigue
- Ideal for med-surg nurses looking to build palliative care skills while floating to other high-acuity med-surg units
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
- Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience in an Acute Care setting
- Palliative experience
- Experience with Epic
Additional Notes
- Previous travel experience is preferred
- May be scheduled for days, nights, or a combination of both if accepting a rotating contract
- Parking is available through campus permit options at additional cost

Units are nice, staff are kind. Single patient rooms with 4:1 ratios day and night on med surg.
Cons
Scheduled every weekend, floated for the first 6 weeks of contract every shift. Not traveler friendly even though they say they are. Staff are treated well not travelers.
