Job Overview

• Location: La Plata, Maryland

• Shift: Nights, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Schedule notes: Every other weekend required; holidays required as scheduled; floating required within the specialty; no pre-scheduled on-call

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Maryland
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• ED - Emergency Department (1 year of experience)
• ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• PALS issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS

• Emergency Department setting
• Fast-paced ED with complex diagnoses
• Patient population includes infants through geriatric patients
• Average daily census: 130
• Bed count: 47
• Typical ratio: 1:4

Compliance and Pre-Start Requirements

• Two supervisory references
• Employment application completed within 30 days of start
• Work history verification for the previous 5 years
• Background check and state exclusion screening
• Physical exam
• Fit test for respirator use
• Negative TB screening
• Drug screen
• Flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
• Immunity or documentation for measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and hepatitis B
• Tdap documentation
• Photo for badge
• Signed confidentiality, dress code, and job description documents before start
