Job Opportunity: RN - Medical/Surgical/Telemetry (Days)

Job Description

• Provide nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation.
• Collaborate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Care for patient populations including Geriatric, Medical/Surgical, Adult, and Telemetry.
• Positions available on Medical Surgical Unit and Telemetry Unit.
• Must self-study telemetry strips upon acceptance; a basic dysrhythmia test will be administered during the first week and must be passed to continue working on the Telemetry/Med Surg unit.
• ACLS certification is required.
• Estimated work week is 36 hours with possible overtime.

Required Experience

• Specialty: RN Medical/Surgical/Telemetry

Required Credentials & Certifications

• Licenses & Certifications:

  • Active RN license verified through primary source (BON & NURSYS).
  • BLS (AHA or ARC acceptable).
  • ACLS certification.
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification (AHA or Apex Innovations only).

• Health & Immunizations:

  • COVID-19 Vaccine (declination accepted).
  • MMR (2 vaccines or positive titer; booster or declination accepted if low/equivocal).
  • Hepatitis B (2 vaccines or positive titer; booster or declination accepted if low/equivocal).
  • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer; booster or declination accepted if low/equivocal).
  • Tdap (valid for 10 years; declination accepted).
  • Influenza Vaccine (required annually by 12/01; vaccine or facility declination accepted).
  • TB Test (negative test within past year; if history of positive, must provide documentation).
  • Fit Test for approved respirators (completed prior to start).
  • Health Statement (physician statement within last 12 months).
  • OSHA Questionnaire (candidate completes).

• Background & Verification:

  • Background check within 30 days of start (includes SS trace, county searches, nationwide, sex offender).
  • Adult and Child Abuse clearance (state requirement).
  • Education verification through third party.
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start.
  • Drug Screen (10 panel within 30 days of start; THC not required).
  • Skills checklist completed within 12 months.
  • References: 2 professional references required, including 1 supervisor.
  • Resume/Profile submission required.
  • I-9 attestation (agency letterhead).
  • Additional screenings (SING, NSO, OFAC) within 30 days of start.
  • Color vision test.
  • Contract employee data sheet.
  • Pre-orientation computer-based learning (CBL) acknowledgement.

• This is a travel nursing position requiring self-study and successful completion of a dysrhythmia test early in the assignment.
