Job Opportunity: RN - Medical/Surgical/Telemetry (Days)
Location: West Burlington, Iowa
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation.
- Collaborate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Care for patient populations including Geriatric, Medical/Surgical, Adult, and Telemetry.
- Positions available on Medical Surgical Unit and Telemetry Unit.
- Must self-study telemetry strips upon acceptance; a basic dysrhythmia test will be administered during the first week and must be passed to continue working on the Telemetry/Med Surg unit.
- ACLS certification is required.
- Estimated work week is 36 hours with possible overtime.
Required Experience
- Specialty: RN Medical/Surgical/Telemetry

- Hepatitis B (2 vaccines or positive titer; booster or declination accepted if low/equivocal).
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer; booster or declination accepted if low/equivocal).
- Tdap (valid for 10 years; declination accepted).
- Influenza Vaccine (required annually by 12/01; vaccine or facility declination accepted).
- TB Test (negative test within past year; if history of positive, must provide documentation).
- Fit Test for approved respirators (completed prior to start).
- Health Statement (physician statement within last 12 months).
- OSHA Questionnaire (candidate completes).
Background & Verification:
- Background check within 30 days of start (includes SS trace, county searches, nationwide, sex offender).
- Adult and Child Abuse clearance (state requirement).
- Education verification through third party.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start.
- Drug Screen (10 panel within 30 days of start; THC not required).
- Skills checklist completed within 12 months.
- References: 2 professional references required, including 1 supervisor.
- Resume/Profile submission required.
- I-9 attestation (agency letterhead).
- Additional screenings (SING, NSO, OFAC) within 30 days of start.
- Color vision test.
- Contract employee data sheet.
- Pre-orientation computer-based learning (CBL) acknowledgement.
