Job Description

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Provide direct patient care within scope of practice in the Emergency Department.
• Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel.
• Maintain professional nursing care standards in Telemetry.
• Communicate with physicians regarding changes in patient condition, diagnostic results, and symptomatology.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or treatment response.
• Knowledgeable about EMTALA regulations and reporting of child/adult abuse to appropriate agencies and hospital social worker.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.

Required Licenses & Certifications

• Current and valid California RN License
• BLS (American Heart Association or Red Cross)
• ACLS (American Heart Association or Red Cross)
• PALS (American Heart Association or Red Cross)
• NRP (American Heart Association or Red Cross; NALS accepted for NICU, L&D, Postpartum RNs)
• DCI/BVP (Workplace Violence Prevention training)

Preferred Certifications

• NIHSS or Stroke Certification
• COVID-19 vaccination and boosters preferred

Required Training & Compliance

• Prime CA Sexual Harassment Prevention Training (valid for 2 years)
• Prime Core Competencies Exam (must score 80% or higher; attestation accepted)
• Prime Skills Checklist
• Prime Criminal Background Check (national, within one year of start date)
• Prime Agency Attestation (completed after all credentials uploaded)
• Prime SAM/EPLS exclusion search
• Prime Form I-9 (Employment eligibility verification; agency attestation accepted)

Health & Immunization Requirements

• COVID-19 Vaccine: 2 vaccines plus booster required or declination completed
• MMR: Proof of 2 vaccines or positive titer showing immunity
• Hepatitis B: Declinations accepted
• Influenza Vaccine: Required (or declination) during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31)
• TB Test: Within 1 year of start date
• Varicella: Vaccination or titer showing immunity
• Tdap: Declinations accepted
• Positive PPD with Negative Chest X-Ray: Every 4 years if applicable
• Physical/Health Statement: Annually; must state clear to work

• Annual Respirator Fit Test (optional but recommended)
• Prime Color-blind Test (annual; Relias accepted)
