Registered Nurse (RN) ICU – Long-Term Assignment

Location: Maywood, Illinois
Unit: Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU), 4NW
Shift: Day shift, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
Hours: 36 hours per week, every third weekend
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Job Description

Provide nursing care in a Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) setting.
Work a consistent day shift schedule.
Patient care requires current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS).

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois.
Minimum 1 year of Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) nursing experience within the last year.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
Enrollment in or completion of the Excluded Parties List System (EPLS) screening.
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Additional Information

License and certification verifications must be dated within 30 days of start.
All required documentation and certifications must be uploaded to the credentialing system prior to onboarding.
The position requires adherence to confidentiality and patient information security policies.
Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this assignment.

Pros

Some of the staff are nice and helpful. Pretty big department.

Cons

Assignments can be heavy, got told I would be Neo/Peds, but I get floated everywhere (adults floors/ICU). Have to pay to park ($2/day) in further garage or $5 in closer garage. And the worst is 8hr assignments!
