Job Opportunity: Medical Laboratory Technologist (MT) / Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)

Location: Bethel, Alaska
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 26 weeks

Position Summary

Under the direction of the laboratory manager, responsible for performing laboratory tests, quality control procedures, and communication with physicians, nurses, and patients.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or a related field
• Must be board eligible by NCA or ASCP and complete board certification within one year of employment
• Certification as Medical Technologist (MT) by ASCP or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) by NCA within one year of employment
• 1 to 3 years of related or progressively responsible experience in chemistry, blood bank, hematology, and microbiology or formal student internship
• Proficient with clinical laboratory instrumentation and laboratory generalist duties
• Ability to work independently and provide direction to Medical Laboratory Assistants
• Must show proof of completed COVID-19 vaccinations
• Immunization requirements: Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, T-Dap, Polio (or titers/historical shot records)
• Background checks and drug screening required (including national and criminal background, 10-panel drug screen within last 90 days)
• Additional onboarding documentation required (photo ID, SSN card, professional license/certification, education transcripts, references, emergency contact information, and various compliance reports)

Additional Information

• Private housing is not provided; housing consists of shared units
• No pets allowed
• Airfare is initially paid by the candidate or agency and reimbursed upon arrival
• New Employee Orientation is held every Tuesday and Wednesday
• Candidates cannot travel until all credentials are received and cleared
