Nursing Contract Opportunity - Columbia, Missouri

Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Work week options: 36-hour or 48-hour
• Unit: 32-bed, fast-paced medical-surgical unit
• Patient Age Groups: Adults, Geriatric, Outpatient
• Patient Load: Must be willing and skilled to handle up to 8 patients at any one time
• Recent Experience: Last 3 assignments must be acute care medical-surgical in medium to large organizations
• Floating: Required to float to other medical-surgical units depending on surgical schedule

Clinical Focus

Common Diagnoses/Procedures:

• Total knee, hip, ankle, and shoulder replacements
• Fracture repair
• Spine surgeries including XLIF, ALIF, TDLF, ACDF, PCDF, microdiscectomy, laminectomy

Common Medications:

• Pain medications
• Antibiotics
• Anticoagulants
• Home medications
• Antiemetics
• Steroids

Common Equipment:

• Ice wraps
• Polar coolers

Required Skills

• IV insertion

Preferred Skills

• PICC/Central line management
• Orthopedic/Medical-Surgical/Oncology skills: Traction, CPM, Epidural/PCA pumps, Feeding tubes, Wound VAC
• Cardiac skills: Remote telemetry, Tele interpretation
• Airway skills: CPAP/BiPAP

Certifications & Experience

• BLS/BCLS certification required
• Prior travel experience required

Additional Notes

• No long-term care nursing assignments
• Staffing may be adjusted between 36 and 48 hours per week during the 13-week contract based on schedule needs
