Registered Nurse - Flex Pool (Days)

Location: Hilo, Hawaii
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Float between various medical and surgical units including Medical, Surgical Acute, and Cardiovascular units.
Work 12-hour day shifts (06:45 AM to 07:15 PM), scheduled for 36 hours per week after orientation.
No guaranteed hours.
Use equipment such as Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vac, and chest tubes.
Nurse-to-patient ratios vary by unit:
- Medical Unit: 1:6 (days/evenings), 1:8 (nights)
- Surgical Acute Unit: 1:6
- Cardiovascular Unit: 1:4
Professional nursing attire required (clean scrubs).
Orientation provided for each unit.
Must arrive the Thursday before start date for employee health appointment.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Hawaii.
Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing.
Minimum of 2 years nursing experience, including Medical-Surgical and Stepdown experience.
At least 1 year of recent Cardiovascular Unit (CVU) experience within the last year.
BLS and ACLS certifications.

Additional Information

Orientation and training specific to each unit will be provided.
Floating to Medical, Surgical Acute, and Cardiovascular units as needed.

It’s always 4 to 1 except hallways you might only have 3. The staff is so kind and welcoming I have nothing bad to say about them. This was my favorite assignment so far
