Overview

• Shift: Days, 12 hours
• Hours per week: 36

Required Qualifications

• Active WA or Compact License
• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)
• NIHSS
• EPIC experience
• Prior floating experience in float pool shifts, other facilities, and/or floating to other floors/units
• ICU 2 years of experience
• Ability to titrate drips

Preferred Qualifications

• High acuity experience

Unit Details

• Unit/Department: High Acuity Float Pool
• Included float pool areas: Critical Care Unit, Observation, Med Surg, General Surgery, Ortho Surgery, Short Stay Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Oncology, Telemetry, and Progressive Care
• Common patient types: Medical, Surgical, Neuro, and cardiac
• Typical staffing: AACN CCU staffing, with assignments of 1-2 depending on acuity; may be 1-3 when acuity is lower or there are transfer orders
• Nurse aides are usually present, with 1-2 depending on daily census
• Telemetry support includes Phillips monitors, at least 1 monitor tech, and RNs read strips
• Respiratory equipment includes vent, high flow, BiPap, and CPAP
• Common titratable/set-rate drips include Epi, Norepi, Dobutamine, Propofol, Esmolol, Hydromorphone, Midazolam, and CIS

Scheduling

• Self-scheduling
• 3 weekend shifts per schedule
• Holiday shifts required
• No call or standby requirement

Orientation

• General Hospital Orientation
• Myles Modules
• Cerner Validation class
• On-unit orientation: 2 shifts in the ICU

• Parking is paid; garage parking has daily and monthly options, and transit is also available
• Charge/Res are free
• Royal Blue scrubs required
