NICU Registered Nurse

Location

Kearney, Nebraska

Contract Length

13 weeks

Shift

Nights, 12-hour shifts
36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

RN license
BLS certification
NRP certification

Experience / Skills

Experience in a Level II NICU
Comfortable attending deliveries and C-sections for newborn care
Able to manage bubble CPAP, ventilators, and new newborn admissions
Able to titrate drips
Charge RN experience preferred

Unit Details

Level II NICU/Nursery
11 beds across 9 rooms
Ratios vary by acuity, up to 1:2/3 for feeder-growers
Common patient population includes early gestation infants
NNP in house 24/7
Respiratory therapy runs vents and CPAP
RN reads monitor strips

Schedule Requirements

Every 3rd weekend
Rotating holidays
May be placed on call if patient volumes are low

Floating

May float to Postpartum if the NICU is closed

Dress Code

Navy scrubs

Orientation

Unit competency required
