Weekend and holiday requirements vary
No call or standby requirement

Unit Details

Tele float pool position
38 beds
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 4:1–5:1
Floats to med-surg and telemetry
Charge nurse does not take patients
Unit aides are present; ratio varies
Tele monitor techs are present, and nurses must read their own strips
GE monitors are used

Required Qualifications

RN license
BLS
ACLS
2 years of experience in telemetry/stepdown
Ability to titrate drips

Clinical Skills / Equipment

Titrates insulin, heparin, amiodarone, and cardizem drips
Uses CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen

Orientation

1 day per unit
12-hour days
Every other weekend

Great hospital. Kind and friendly staff.

Cons

The cafeteria is a hit and miss. Some days they have great sea food with saffron rice! Some days microwaved food :D. But there is alwaaaaays, pizza available ;)
