Dietitian - Inpatient Dietician

Location: Bemidji, Minnesota
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days (Monday to Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM)
Hours per Week: 40 hours (8 hours per day)

Job Summary

• Plan, develop, and provide diet interventions, medical nutrition therapy, nutrition care, and preventive counseling across primary and specialty patient care settings including acute care, skilled nursing, outpatient, and community environments.
• Provide medical nutrition therapy services and monitor nutritional care for clients/patients/residents of all ages (neonatal through geriatric).
• Conduct nutritional assessments, develop individualized care plans, recommend provider orders, and implement nutrition therapy (including diet modification, nutrition support, oral nutrition supplements, and verbal orders).
• Educate and counsel patients on disease and nutrition risk management, and evaluate outcomes of nutrition therapy interventions.
• Optimize self-management education and skills for patients with chronic conditions.
• Recognize and address nutritional needs considering cultural, ethnic, and religious beliefs.
• Evaluate treatments or procedures for effectiveness using evidence-based approaches.
• Lead nutrition care protocols and collaborate with the healthcare team to implement nutrition therapies.
• Provide diet education tailored to disease state, medical condition, and health risk.

Required Qualifications

• Minnesota state dietitian license required.
• BLS certification preferred but not required.

Additional Information

• Work hours are primarily Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with flexibility available.
