Central Sterile Processing Technician - Boise, Idaho

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Required Certifications

  • BLS (AHA or ARC)
  • CBSPD or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) via HSPA

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of Central Sterile Processing (SPD) experience
  • Experience with Neuro, Orthopedic, and DaVinci Robotics cases
  • Experience with SQ Track system
  • Prefer candidates with experience in a large hospital setting (surgery center experience less preferred)
  • First-time travelers accepted

Case Load and Types

  • 60-70 cases per day
  • Includes Neuro, Ortho, DaVinci Robotics, Pediatric, General surgery cases
  • 8-10 DaVinci cases daily
  • Experience with Mako for Ortho and Stryker instrumentation is a plus

Duties

  • Decontaminate, inspect, and assemble surgical instruments
  • Operate washers and sterilizers
  • Monitor sterilization cycles and indicators
  • Maintain accurate records
  • Store and distribute sterile items
  • Ensure compliance with infection control and regulatory standards
  • Day shift primarily in Decontamination with potential to float throughout SPD department

Equipment and Systems

  • Sterilizer systems: Sterrad, VPro Max 2 (Low Temperature), Belimed, Getinge, Steris (Steam Sterilizers)
  • Tracking system: SQ Track

Shift Details

  • Monday to Friday, 5 to 8 hour shifts per week
  • Day shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
  • Evening shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
  • Night shift: 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM
  • No regular call, weekend, or holiday requirements (rare exceptions)
  • Floating required throughout SPD department

Orientation and Work Environment

  • 1-2 weeks of unit/department-specific orientation
  • Scrubs provided, locker available
  • Breakroom with fridge available
  • Facility is busy with some space constraints
  • Potential workflow/process changes during assignment due to consulting efforts
  • Location offers a beautiful area with many outdoor activities
