Job Description

A hospital in California is seeking an experienced Radiology Technologist for a travel assignment. The ideal candidate will have experience working with CT and general radiology procedures, including fluoroscopy. The position involves working with a variety of patients including ER, OR, inpatient, and outpatient cases.

Work Schedule & Environment

• Typical shifts are 8 hours.
• Weekend and holiday coverage required; weekend shifts vary based on proficiency (CT techs may have early or late shifts; general Rad Techs have mid-morning shifts).
• Night shifts (12-hour nights) may be required.
• Patients are scheduled approximately one per hour to allow time for inpatient and ER cases.
• Orientation varies by specialty and experience level (1 day to 1 week).
• Scrubs are provided by the hospital.
• Radiologist support is available on-site or on-call.
• Equipment includes Siemens 64 and 128 slice CT scanners and Phillips ultrasound machines.
• Electronic Medical Record system used: Cerner.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Radiology Technologist.
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Certified CT Technologist (ARRT CT) and Certified Radiologic Technologist (ARRT R).
• Fluoroscopy permit required.
• State of California certification for Radiologic Technologists.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills

• Experience with venipuncture is a plus but not required.
• Mammography certification and tomography training are desirable but not mandatory.
• Prior operating room (OR) experience is highly valued.
• Advanced certifications beyond the required are a plus.

Notes

• Candidates proficient in CT may have more flexible scheduling options including weekend standby/call.
• The role involves working closely with a radiology management team including coordinators and supervisors.
• The position supports a busy radiology department with approximately 15 techs scheduled per 24 hours.
