- 13-week contract
- Location: Peoria, Illinois
- Local placements accepted within a 50-mile radius
Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN license, or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
- BLS (AHA)
- PALS (AHA)
- Previous PICU experience
Unit Details
- PICU department
- 16 ICU beds and 16 INT beds
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:1 to 1:2
- Common patient types include Medical/Surgical/Neuro and CV ICU
- 1 PCT for the unit
- Free charge RN 24/7
- House supervisor 24/7
- Intensivists, APPs, and residents in house 24/7
- Bedside Phillips monitors; nurses should be able to recognize rhythm changes and understand associated interventions
- RT equipment includes Avia, Servo U, Home Vents trilogy, and LTV
Schedule
- 12-hour night shifts
- Shift times: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, and 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Every other weekend required
- May work 1 significant and 1 insignificant holiday depending on assignment timing
Floating
- May float to PIC and lower levels of care by turn
- NICU/NIC float is up to the traveler
- Full teams are floated
Additional Notes
- No call or standby requirement
- No scrub color restriction; scrubs should be friendly to children
- Unit-specific orientation: 3 to 4 twelve-hour shifts
- Non-billable orientation: 12 hours
- Drug screen required
- Submission requires the last four digits of SSN, middle initial, and requested time off
