Unit Overview
- Unit: Labor and Delivery
- Number of beds: 32
- Number of staff: 150
- Patient ratio: 1:2
- Shift coverage includes day and night shifts with 1 charge nurse and 1 co-charge nurse per shift
- No call requirements
- Weekends: alternating schedule
- EMR system: Meditech
- Equipment used: Novii, JADA, Fetal Pillow, IUPC, FSE, Toco, Ultrasound
Typical Procedures
- Spontaneous vaginal deliveries (SVD)
- Cerclages
- Cesarean sections (C-Sections)
- Trial of labor after cesarean (TOLAC)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Preferred Qualifications
- Competency in internal monitor placement
- Experience in a high-volume (Level IV) Labor and Delivery unit
- Previous assignments or employment with similar healthcare systems
Work Environment and Culture
- Team-oriented with emphasis on positive attitude
- Dress code: navy blue scrubs; solid blue, black, or grey sweatshirts allowed; T-shirts not acceptable
- Adherence to attendance policies required
Schedule and Hours
- Approximately 36 hours per week
- Night shift hours: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
This position is ideal for experienced Labor and Delivery RNs seeking a travel assignment in a well-equipped, high-volume unit with supportive team culture.
