**Job Description:**

- **Position**: RN, Behavioral Health 
- **Location**: Valley Springs - Holyoke, MA
- **Unit**: Forensic Unit Mountain View 
- **Shift**: 7A - 3:30P 
- **Weekly Guaranteed Hours**: 40 hours 
- **Weekend Hours**: Every other weekend 
- **Call Requirements**: None 

**Unit Profile:**

- **Trauma Level**: Continuing Care Unit 
- **Number of Beds**: 46 
- **Patient Ratios**: 1:9 RN 
- **Equipment**: POC blood glucose, VS 
- **EHR**: Cerner 
- **Supervision**: Nancy Marhefka, BSN RN 
- **Patient Population**: Adults 18 and over, history of legal issues, patients last stop before community placement 

**Position Requirements:**

- **Required Certifications**: BLS (AHA), Handle with Care (HWC - can be completed on site if needed) 
- **Years of Experience**: Minimum of 3 years 
- **Must Have Skills/Experience**: 
 - Experience working with mental health patients in a locked setting 
 - Ability to pass medications utilizing Omni Cell 

- **Preferred Skillset/Experience**: 
 - Same as above 

- **Common Diagnosis/Treatment**: 
 - Bipolar, Schizoaffective, Major Depression, Substance Abuse, chronic medical conditions (diabetes, hypertension, COPD)

- **Personality Fit**: 
 - Trauma-informed, compassionate care 
 - Flexible and able to adjust to changing patient needs 
 - Confident and communicative 

- **Required Education**: BSN preferred 

**Dress Code:**

- **Scrub Color**: Blue
