RN Tele

Overview

• Travel assignment in Charleston, South Carolina
• 13-week contract
• 48 hours per week
• 3 x 12-hour shifts per week, including every other weekend
• Expected to work holidays in rotation with hospital employees

Unit

• 3rd Telemetry
• 29 beds
• Patient ratio: 1:6
• Travelers are first to float
• Float scope includes the emergency department for inpatient holds, the telemetry monitoring room, and PCU

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in South Carolina
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Telemetry (2 years of experience)
• Telemetry experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS

Required Clinical Experience

• Care for 6 telemetry patients
• Care for post-cardiac procedure patients, including PCI, PPM, ICD, or ablations
• Proficiency in reading telemetry strips
• Time management, care planning each shift, collaboration with physicians and ancillary departments, discharge planning, and patient education

Preferred Skills

• Phlebotomy
• Administering breathing treatments outside of the ICU, including inhalers and nebulizers
• Foley catheter care and maintenance with nurse-driven removal protocols
• Telemetry and post-cath lab patient care
• Management of cardiac drips, including Cardizem, Amio, Nitro, and Dobutamine

Work Environment

• Bedside shift report
• AIDET and RN/MD rounding
• Navy uniform required
