Registered Nurse (Telemetry) - Travel Assignment

Location: Alexandria, Louisiana
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Provide independent nursing care in a telemetry setting, managing patients with cardiac conditions and some medical-surgical overflow. Responsibilities include routine and complex care, patient assessment, medication administration, patient education, and delegation to other care providers.

Patient Population

Myocardial Infarction (MI)
Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
Arrhythmias
Peripheral Vascular Disease (PVD)
Medical-surgical overflow
Management of cardiac drips (no nitrates)

Work Schedule

Dayshift: 7 AM – 7 PM
Every other weekend required
No on-call required
Floating to other units as needed
Nurse-to-patient ratio typically 5:1, occasionally 6:1

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Minimum 1 year of telemetry nursing experience within the last year

Licenses & Certifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)

Additional Information

New hires must complete orientation and competency validations, including MedSurg-specific competencies.
Temp-to-perm opportunity may be available.
