Registered Nurse (Telemetry) - Travel Position

Location: Alexandria, Louisiana
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Provide routine and complex nursing care independently in a cardiac and telemetry unit (not a stepdown unit). Manage patient care using the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation. Support patients and families with psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs. Administer medications and treatments following protocols, monitor effectiveness and side effects, and document all care provided. Educate patients, families, and caregivers as needed.

Shift & Schedule

Days: 7 AM – 7 PM
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
On Call: None
Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 5:1 to 6:1 depending on staffing

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Minimum 1 year of telemetry nursing experience within the last year
Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Licenses & Certifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association

Additional Information

Epic experience required
Temp-to-perm possibility available
New hires will undergo orientation and competency validation including MedSurg-specific competencies
Newly licensed RNs may participate in a residency or specific orientation program

Patient Population

Cardiac and telemetry patients (not a stepdown unit)

No prior travel experience is explicitly required for this position.
