RN Charge/Supervisor - Nursing Administration (Travel Assignment)
Location: San Diego, California
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Job Description
- Manage day-to-day operations and long-term planning of patient care areas.
- Direct and develop nursing staff, including selection, orientation, training, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and discipline.
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams.
- Provide physical, psychological, and emotional support to patients and families.
- Oversee nursing care for 3 medical/surgical/telemetry units and 1 ICU unit.
- Organize bed flow and ensure quality patient care.
- Maintain nursing guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with state board of nursing and nurse practice act requirements.
- Monitor budgets, expenditures, and staffing productivity.
- Maintain safe, clean, and compliant working environment.
- Manage nursing supplies and equipment inventory.
- Participate in professional development and maintain technical knowledge.
- Foster cooperative relationships among healthcare teams.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in California.
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
- Minimum 2 years of House Supervisor experience, including experience within the last year.
- ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience.
- Experience with ventilator and tracheostomy care.
- ACLS certification.
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Experience in supervisory roles.
Shift Details
- Night shift: 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM.
- Work every other weekend.
- Days off will vary.
Experience Requirements
- Specialty experience: Minimum 2 years as RN Charge/Supervisor.
- Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required.
Certifications Required
- ACLS (American Heart Association)
- BLS (American Heart Association)
This role is suited for experienced RN Charge Nurses or Supervisors with ICU and ventilator/trach experience, comfortable managing multiple units and leading nursing teams in a hospital setting.
