Unit Information

• Unit: Interventional Radiology
• Staffing:

  • Day Shift: 3-4 Techs, 3-4 RNs, 1 Scheduler/Coordinator
  • Night Shift: Call
• Patient Ratios: Vary depending on IR procedure
• Equipment: Discovery 740 IGS
• EMR System: Meditech

Role Details

• Position: This is a Tech position, not an RN role
• Typical Procedures:

  • Biopsies/Drain Insertion
  • Angiograms/Peripheral Vascular
  • Paracenteses/Thoracentesis
  • Assisting with imaging needs (CT Coronary, MRI Monitoring, Myelograms)
  • Line Placement
• RN Scrubbing: Not required

Required Skills and Experience

• Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty
• Must Have:

  • Critical Care Experience
  • Procedural Area Experience
  • Moderate Sedation
• Preferred:

  • PALS Certification
  • Experience with Meditech EMR

Certifications Required

• BLS
• ACLS

Work Schedule and Environment

• Call: 1-2 nights per week, plus 1 weekend call every 4-5 weekends
• Floating: Unlikely, but may assist in CT, MRI, Radiology
• Dress Code: Scrubs provided
