Travel RN Opportunity – Medical/Surgical Telemetry

Location: Martinsville, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Specialty: Medical/Surgical - Telemetry
• Role: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Shift: Nights (7 PM – 7 AM)
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed
• Weekend Hours: Every other weekend / as needed
• Call Requirements: As needed
• Number of Openings: 1
• Patient Ratio: 1:4
• Unit Beds: 41
• Patient Population: All ages
• EHR System: Meditech

Required Qualifications

• Licensure: Valid RN license to practice in Virginia
• Certifications:

  • ACLS
  • BLS
  • NIH Certification
  • Handle with Care
• Experience: 2 years (highest required years of experience) in Medical/Surgical specialty
• Skills:

  • Strong critical thinking and decisive judgment
  • Ability to work independently in a stressful environment
  • Flexibility to work all shift patterns including weekends and holidays
• Additional Requirements:

  • Must complete clear screenings before start
  • Consent to random drug screening and criminal background check
  • Float as needed, may require travel within a 25-mile radius

• Acute-care hospital licensed for 220 beds
• Comprehensive surgical and emergency services
• Accredited Chest Pain Center and Heart Failure Center
• Member of Duke Heart Network and Duke Telestroke Network
• No specific scrub color required; casual wear not allowed

Orientation & Travel Requirements

• Orientation held bi-weekly on Tuesdays
• Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify as travel staff
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
