Travel RN Opportunity - Telemetry

Location: Springfield, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Details

  • Specialty: Telemetry (Tele)
  • Shift: Nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
  • Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36 or 48 (must be specified on submission)
  • Number of Openings: 1
  • Weekend Hours: As required by facility
  • Call Requirements: None
  • Float Requirements: Will float on a rotational basis

Licensure & Certifications

  • Current RN License eligible or active in Missouri
  • Required Certifications:
    • BLS (American Heart Association only)
    • NIHSS (must be obtained prior to start if not currently held)

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of inpatient Telemetry experience (higher value confirmed)
  • Experience and competence in drug titration required
  • Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required

Unit Information

  • Unit Type: Medical Telemetry (Med or Med Tele), includes patients with developmental delays
  • Number of Beds: 32
  • Patient Ratios: Vary by shift (Days 1:5-1:6, Nights 1:6-1:7), no guaranteed ratios
  • Equipment: Telemetry monitors, lift equipment, IV pumps, tube feeding pumps
  • EMR System: EPIC

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Coordinate patient care with ancillary departments
  • Maintain patient rights and confidentiality
  • Maintain professional accountability and evaluate care effectiveness
  • Perform duties consistent with Missouri Nurse Practice Act and facility standards
  • Physical demands include standing/walking most of the shift, bending, stooping, lifting/turning patients with assistance, and exposure to blood/body fluids
  • Must be flexible with schedules and shifts as patient care requires

  • Scrub Color: Black only (no exceptions)
  • Personality Fit: Determined, decisive, flexible
  • Night shift orientation occurs on day shift and requires full week availability
  • Facility emphasizes safety, innovation, and high patient satisfaction

Additional Notes

  • Flu vaccination or approved exemption required for travel nurses from November 1 to April 1 (no declinations accepted)
  • Time off requests (RTO) must be made after the first week; only one holiday RTO allowed per assignment
  • Blocked scheduling may be approved based on facility needs
