Travel RN CVICU - Las Vegas, NV

Position Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
• Employment Type: Travel
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Night (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Hours: 36 hours guaranteed, typically 3 shifts of 12 hours per week
• Patient Ratios: 1:1 or 1:2
• Unit Beds: 12
• Unit: CTICU (Cardiothoracic ICU)
• Floating Policy: May float to other ICU units, Intermediate Care (IMC), and Emergency Department (ED) Hold area
• On Call: None
• Weekend Requirement: 4 shifts per 4-week schedule
• Patient Population: Adults (18+)

Required Qualifications

• RN License: Current and valid
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS (NIH Certification preferred)
• Experience: Minimum 2 years recent ICU experience required (higher years of experience take precedence)
• Specialty Skills:

  • ICU experience required
  • Open heart surgery recovery experience preferred
  • Advanced skills caring for patients on ventilators, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), Swan-Ganz/PA Catheter, Arterial Line, Central Line
• Procedures Performed on Unit:

  • Bedside central line placement
  • Chest tube placement and removal
  • Thoracentesis
  • Intubation and extubation

Unit Environment & Equipment

• Staffing: Charge Nurse plus RNs only (no secretaries, techs, or CNAs)
• Equipment: Ventilator, Balloon Pump, CRRT, Swan-Ganz catheter, Arterial Line, Rapid Infuser, Blood Warmer
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Dress Code: Royal Blue Scrubs required
