Travel RN - Cardiothoracic ICU

Location: Cape Girardeau, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Evening (7pm – 7am)
Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed (option for 48 hours/week)
Weekend Requirements: Every other full weekend (Saturday and Sunday) required unless otherwise approved
Holiday Requirements: Must work at least one major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year’s Day)
Call Requirements: None
Float Requirements: Will float to ICU and any progressive unit as needed

Unit Information

Unit: Cardiothoracic ICU
Beds: 14 (expanding soon to 26)
Patient Ratios: Typically 1:2, may vary during shift
Equipment: CRRT machine, Abbott Balloon pump, External Vent Drain, Impella, PrismaFlex
EMR System: EPIC
Patient Population: Heart surgery (including open heart, CABG), Neuro (stroke, brain surgery)

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri
Minimum 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) nursing experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Experience with Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG)

Job Summary

Provide comprehensive nursing care including:

Developing nursing diagnoses and care plans
Delivering physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients and families
Monitoring and reassessing patient conditions and care objectives
