• 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Illinois
• Med Surg (3 years of experience)
• Med Surg experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

• BSN

Role Summary

• Staff Registered Nurse responsible for a group of patients for a designated time frame
• Provides care using the nursing process, technology, financial and human resources, and the institution’s philosophy

Key Responsibilities

• Performs unit-specific responsibilities and duties within the scope of service
• Implements procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice
• Maintains accurate nursing documentation
• Completes initial patient assessment and develops a plan of care based on unit standards and patient/family needs
• Implements plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures
• Modifies plan of care based on continuous evaluation
• Reports and/or corrects safety hazards and incidents
• Communicates directly and privately when necessary to resolve issues
• Offers constructive feedback to support peer development
• Identifies personal learning needs and takes initiative to address them
• Fulfills departmental competency requirements
