Key Responsibilities

• Provide patient and family-centered care aimed at achieving individualized, holistic goals.
• Develop and implement comprehensive, age- and culturally-appropriate nursing care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Use the nursing process to safely and therapeutically care for patients, including documentation of plans of care (IPOC).
• Evaluate patient and family progress toward goals, adjusting care plans as needed.
• Identify and address patient/family educational needs through individualized teaching plans, using adult-learning theory.
• Recognize and overcome communication barriers by engaging interdisciplinary expertise.
• Advocate for patients and families, encouraging participation in decision-making and upholding rights.
• Document patient care needs and progress according to departmental guidelines and policies.
• Delegate and assign care tasks appropriately within the scope of practice of healthcare team members.
• Coordinate and communicate with healthcare team members and ancillary staff to optimize patient care and workflow.

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Licensure & Certifications

• Valid California RN license required
• CPR certification required
• Strong CVOR experience required

Additional Information

• Must complete OR questionnaire with submission
• Flexibility to work other surgical cases when cardiovascular cases are not available, including orthopedics, neurology, and robotics
