Job Summary

The staff Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care to a group of patients during a designated time frame. Responsibilities include utilizing the nursing process, current nursing trends, technology, and resources to deliver quality patient care within the institution's philosophy.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform all duties required by the unit within the scope of service.
• Implement procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care.
• Complete initial patient assessments upon admission and develop appropriate care plans based on patient and family needs.
• Implement and modify plans of care and nursing interventions based on continuous evaluation.
• Ensure patient and employee safety by reporting or correcting hazards and incidents.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and resolve issues professionally.
• Provide constructive feedback to peers and engage in professional development.
• Identify personal learning needs and take initiative to address them.
• Fulfill all departmental competency requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant nursing experience.
• ASN degree required; BSN preferred.
• Illinois state RN license in good standing.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association).

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN degree (preferred).
• No additional preferred certifications specified.
