Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Intermediate Care

Location: Wausau, Wisconsin

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Work Schedule

• 12-hour shifts, day/night variable (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• May be on call with a minimum 2-hour callback

Unit Information

• Intermediate Care Unit (8-bed observation unit)
• Float to IMC and CTU units as needed
• Patient ratio: 1:4
• Patient conditions include anemia, cellulitis, COPD, dehydration, pre/post-op urology and GI, drips (Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, Heparin)
• Average patient stay up to 48 hours
• High volume of admissions and discharges

Required Qualifications

• Wisconsin RN License
• Minimum 3 years of nursing experience (specialty experience)
• At least 1 prior travel assignment required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification highly preferred
• EPIC charting experience required
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac strips; EKG exam required during compliance

Additional Information

• Must be located outside a 50-mile radius from the facility
• Scrub colors: any color
• During flu season, travelers declining flu and COVID vaccinations must wear a mask at all times per facility policy (mandatory compliance)
• Contract includes eligibility for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours; call-back pay applies if called in during these hours
