Intermediate Care Registered Nurse

Overview

Travel assignment in Wausau, Wisconsin
13-week contract
Start date: ASAP
36 guaranteed hours per week
12-hour day shifts: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM
Every other weekend and every other holiday
Contract ends on Sunday, not Saturday

Intermediate Care unit
36 beds
Heavy Tele
Typical patient mix includes stable/weaning vents and trachs, sepsis, trauma, alcohol detox, GI bleed, colostomy/ileostomy, chest tubes, TBI, Ortho Trauma, spinal cord injury, and stroke
Primary patient ratio: 4:1

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Wisconsin
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
2 years of PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience
One completed travel assignment
BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Experience with tracheostomy care
Experience with mechanical ventilation

Preferred

ICU experience
Trauma Level II experience
EPIC experience

Float Scope

May float to all inpatient units as needed
Typically floats to higher acuity units

Additional Notes

Low census may reduce worked hours in 4-hour increments, including 4 or 8 hours of a shift
Scrub color: any color
During flu season, travelers who decline flu and COVID vaccination must wear a mask at all times
